Ok. This is a bit late in the postings, but better late than never! This was a collaboration project with 3D design which finished our second year this summer. Me and my partner wanted to focus on sustainability and after juggling ideas around and a few weeks of development we came up with the idea of creating a monster out of carrier bags that would inflate and catch the publics eye on campus. It both highlighted an issue on plastic waste and the wasted energy of extracted air coming out of buildings. What's one or two carrier bags every now and again? The truth is the amount of waste of plastic is phenomenal and its eventually going to come back to haunt us, and has begun to do so. The project in my opinion became a great success and i'd love to some more big inflatable creatures or sculptures out of carrier bags! There are more photos i want to post of this but i have to find them first!! james out...
